Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Mechanical Site Engineer to join our team at SUMMIT. As a Mechanical Site Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the mechanical aspects of construction projects, ensuring that installations, systems, and equipment are completed efficiently, on time, and in accordance with the project specifications, safety standards, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision: Oversee the mechanical installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment, systems, and machinery on-site. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the technical specifications, safety standards, and company policies.
- Coordination: Coordinate with the project management team, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Communicate project needs and ensure mechanical work is aligned with other trades.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of mechanical installations and works on-site. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with design drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Project Scheduling: Assist in developing and updating project schedules. Monitor progress and report any delays or issues that may affect project timelines.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety guidelines and regulations on-site. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and toolbox talks to maintain a safe working environment.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed site reports, progress logs, and documentation of mechanical activities. Provide regular updates to the project manager on project status, issues, and performance.
- Testing & Commissioning: Supervise and oversee the testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
Education & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years as a Mechanical Engineer, preferably in the construction or contracting industry.
- Skills:
- Good understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).
- Good knowledge of construction practices, safety regulations, and mechanical engineering standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving on-site issues.
