Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical Site Engineer to join our team at SUMMIT. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the electrical work on construction sites, ensuring all installations, systems, and equipment are completed efficiently, safely, and according to specifications. You will work closely with the project management team, subcontractors, and clients to ensure the smooth running of electrical operations on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Supervision: Oversee the electrical installation, testing, and commissioning of systems and equipment on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, and safety standards.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with the project team, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of electrical materials and services. Ensure electrical works are integrated smoothly with other trades on the project.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure that electrical installations meet the required standards. Address any quality issues promptly and provide corrective actions.
- Work Scheduling: Assist in developing and maintaining the project schedule for electrical works. Monitor progress, report delays or issues, and ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical works adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices. Conduct risk assessments and safety audits, ensuring the safe execution of all activities on-site.
- Material Management: Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials needed for electrical works. Verify that materials received are of the required quality and quantity.
- Testing & Commissioning: Supervise and assist in the testing and commissioning of electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, fire alarm systems, and other critical electrical infrastructure.
- Documentation & Reporting: Keep accurate records of electrical activities on-site, including daily progress reports, inspection logs, and compliance documents. Provide regular status updates to the project manager.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in the construction or contracting industry.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and installations (lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, etc.).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Understanding of electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, BS).
