Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated Mechanical Technical Office Engineer to join our team at SUMMIT. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support and ensuring the proper coordination of mechanical systems during the design and execution phases of construction projects. You will work closely with the project team, including engineers, contractors, and clients, to ensure that mechanical systems are designed, installed, and operated according to project specifications, timelines, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support & Design Review: Review mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with project requirements and relevant codes and standards. Provide technical support to the project team, ensuring that designs are optimized for both functionality and cost-efficiency.
- Shop Drawings & Documentation: Prepare and review detailed mechanical shop drawings, technical documents, and specifications. Ensure that these documents meet the client’s requirements and industry standards.
- Coordination with Site Engineers: Coordinate with site engineers and other project teams to resolve technical issues, clarify design discrepancies, and ensure that mechanical installations are completed according to plans and schedules.
- Material & Equipment Submittals: Prepare and submit material and equipment submittals for approval, ensuring that they meet project specifications and quality standards. Track the procurement and delivery of materials and ensure they align with project timelines.
- Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for mechanical systems and components. Track project costs and assist in maintaining the project budget, ensuring that mechanical work is completed on time and within budget.
- Change Management: Manage and review any changes in the scope of work and update project documentation accordingly. Ensure that change orders are processed efficiently and that any additional work is coordinated with the client and contractors.
- Reporting: Prepare regular technical reports for management, documenting progress, challenges, and solutions. Provide updates on mechanical works and ensure all project milestones are met on time.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a technical office engineering role, preferably in the contracting or construction industry.
